The Galaxy NAD 25, visually similar to its 180cc counterpart, struggles to establish its value in the competitive Iranian 250cc motorcycle market. Its ordinary handling, weak individual brakes, and perceived lack of distinction diminish its appeal despite decent engine specifications and effective ABS.

The Iranian motorcycle market historically struggles with successful sales of motorcycles with varying engine displacements, as seen with models like Apache 180/200, NS 150/200, Benelli 150/25, and Galaxy N180/N25.
The Galaxy NAD 25 is externally almost indistinguishable from the Galaxy N180, which is a significant negative point for its market positioning, as it lacks a distinct visual identity.
The N25 features a 250cc (globally listed as 278cc) four-stroke, four-valve Texila engine, producing 24.7 horsepower at 7500 rpm and 24 Newton-meters of torque at 6000 rpm. It weighs approximately 160.68 kg, which is about 20 kg heavier than the 180cc model, and includes an 11-liter fuel tank, standard telescopic front forks, and identical 180/17 front and 130/70-17 rear tire sizes to the 180cc.
Rider positioning on the N25 is comfortable and similar to the 180cc model, but its downward-sloping, rod-shaped handlebar is criticized for contributing to poor handling, especially in traffic. The increased weight over the N180 also negatively impacts its handling characteristics, making it less agile.
The N25's suspension is stiffer and 'drier' than the N180's, designed for greater rigidity to prevent the tire from hitting the body under heavy loads. This design choice, however, results in a less soft ride with more noticeable bumps.
The N25 is equipped with ABS, which operates effectively for both front and rear brakes. However, individual front or rear braking is considered weak; combined braking performs adequately, but overall braking performance is identified as a negative point, especially for a motorcycle in its price range.
Gear shifts on the N25 are smooth and easy, comparable to the N180. The motorcycle experiences noticeable heat generation at low speeds, though its heat management is considered superior to some competitors like the Benelli pair.
Priced around 360 million units, the N25's value is questioned due to its strong visual similarity to the much cheaper 180cc model and its lack of distinctive features. This makes it unattractive to appearance-oriented buyers who perceive little added value for the higher cost.
The N25 enters a highly competitive 250cc market segment, facing numerous established and diverse options such as Duco, Sifu, Kiyo, Zontsu, and Yamaha. This extensive competition, unlike the less crowded 180cc segment, significantly diminishes the N25's appeal and market share potential.
The N25 has limited supply and lower market demand compared to the well-established 180cc model. Its buyers are typically well-informed individuals who consciously choose it despite its average features and lack of special options, rather than those seeking exceptional performance or unique aesthetics.
The Galaxy NAD 25 offers an ordinary ride with non-distinctive handling and appearance, and its performance does not justify its price in the highly competitive 250cc market. Given its perceived shortcomings, purchasing a second-hand alternative is often a more logical and valuable option.
The Iranian motorcycle market has never been, and will not be, successful with motorcycles of different engine displacements.
| Insight | Description |
|---|---|
| Market Success Challenge | Motorcycles with varying engine displacements have historically struggled to achieve widespread success in the Iranian market. |
| Visual Identity Issues | The Galaxy NAD 25 is visually almost identical to the N180, leading to a lack of distinctiveness and diminishing its unique appeal. |
| Engine Performance | It features a 250cc (278cc global) engine delivering 24.7 hp and 24 Nm torque; it is 20 kg heavier than the N180 at 160.68 kg. |
| Handling and Ergonomics | Handling is described as ordinary, negatively impacted by its weight and the design of its downward-sloping handlebar, despite comfortable rider ergonomics similar to the N180. |
| Braking System Effectiveness | The ABS is effective, but individual front or rear brakes are weak; combined braking performs better, yet overall braking is a significant negative point for its price. |
| Competitive Market Position | The 250cc market is highly competitive with numerous established alternatives, making the N25's value proposition considerably weaker compared to the less crowded 180cc segment. |
| Value for Money | Priced at 360 million units, the N25 offers insufficient distinction or superior performance over the N180 to justify its higher cost for many potential buyers. |
| Supply and Demand | The N25 faces limited supply and lower demand compared to the popular N180, primarily appealing to a niche segment of well-informed buyers. |
