Samsung's recent one-hour event showcased significant innovations, primarily introducing the new Fold 7 and Flip 7 FE alongside an updated range of Galaxy Watch 8 series. The presentation focused on advancements in design, durability, camera technology, and integrated AI features across its latest devices.

The Samsung event, a compact one-hour presentation, recently concluded, focusing exclusively on new foldable phones and smartwatches without any news regarding headphones, smart glasses, or headsets.
The Fold 7 features a significantly slimmer, more attractive, and lighter design, even surpassing the S25 in lightness. Its closed thickness is just a few millimeters, making it thinner than standard flagship phones, and its curvature and smaller hinge have been improved to minimize the visibility of the middle crease line. For the first time, the device offers slight dust resistance alongside its existing IP48 water resistance.
The Fold 7 introduces a 200-megapixel main camera, similar to the S25H but adapted for its thinner profile, and includes an upgraded ultra-wide camera with autofocus for macro photography. The previous under-display selfie camera has been replaced with a punch-hole design for improved clarity, while the internal selfie camera remains discreetly under the display.
The external display of the Fold 7 has been widened to a 21:9 aspect ratio, offering a more normal viewing experience, and the internal display is slightly larger at 8 inches with a 20:18 aspect ratio. Both displays support a dynamic refresh rate from 1 to 120Hz. Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage.
The Fold 7 comes with optimized and faster Galaxy AI features, including integrated Gemini capabilities accessible directly via the side button, eliminating the need for a separate app. It also ships with One UI 8 and Android 16 pre-installed.
The new Flip model features an external display, Flex Windows 4, that measures 1/10th of an inch and covers the entire upper phone cover, while its internal display has a slightly larger 21:9.9-inch resolution. It adopts the same thinness, attractive design, and materials as the Z Fold 7. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 for Galaxy processor, with cooling being a noted design challenge due to limited space. It includes a 50-megapixel external camera, and its external display supports 60-120Hz, while the internal one supports 1-120Hz.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, priced at $899, offers a more accessible option in the Flip series, incorporating new features like Provisual and other photography engine enhancements.
The Samsung event introduced three new smartwatches: the Watch 8 (40mm, 44mm), the Watch 8 Classic (46mm) with a rotating bezel, and the Ultra (47mm) in a new color. These watches incorporate two significant new sensors: one for detecting body antioxidant levels and another for a specialized exercise trainer that customizes running plans across 10 levels based on user body condition.
The Watch 8 series provides comprehensive health guidance, including sleep tracking that monitors patterns like deep and light sleep and detects snoring, along with personalized advice on diet based on body readings like sodium levels. The watches boast a bright 3000-nit display for clear visibility in direct sunlight and feature a thinner design with comfortable straps suitable for sleep.
For the first time, a 200-megapixel camera has been added to the Fold 7, featuring an upgraded ultra-wide camera with autofocus that enables macro photography.
